Beliefs we hold help to define how we see ourselves. They often guide our behaviour and how we respond in our all our relationships from our loved ones, right through to the boss. Beliefs can be our life-force, our power and inspiration, to live a life full of creativity and authenticity.
However our beliefs can also keep us stuck in repetitive patterns of behavior. Although we desire deeply to be different, we struggle and remain the same. Under times of extreme stress we feel as if we are falling apart and can even begin to doubt our very selves.
Therapy helps us deconstruct and examine ourselves. Through exploring core beliefs and the experiences these beliefs have grown from, we come to understand how our own beliefs can operate on us, and keep us stuck in our daily lives. Therapy is about thinking and feeling and challenging ourselves and learning new ways of responding in the present.
